How does the autumn change affect your skin?

As we move from summer to autumn, our skin adapts to the changing conditions. Cooler air, less sunshine and heated indoor spaces all have an impact on skin conditions. But what should we know about these changes and how can we support our skin during this period?

1. Dehydration and moisture loss
As autumn approaches, the humidity in the air decreases, causing increased water loss from the skin. This can result in dry, tight, rough skin. It's a good time to use richer, more nourishing creams and lotions to keep skin hydrated and supple.

2. Sensitivity and irritation
Fluctuations in temperature, wind and heated spaces can irritate the skin, resulting in redness, itching or increased sensitivity. It is important to clean gently and avoid products containing irritating ingredients.

3. Pigmentation and tonal changes
Less sunlight means less vitamin D in the skin, which can affect skin tone. Although autumn is not all about sunshine, it's still a good idea to make sure you have adequate sun protection to prevent the development of pigment spots.

4. Skin renewal and extra care
As our skin adapts to the weather, it's important to pay attention to the signs and adapt your routine to your needs. This can be through the use of serums, moisturising masks or supplementary oils. Remember: there is no one template routine that works perfectly for all skin types.

Autumn is a time of transition for our skin: it needs more hydration, gentle care and attention. Listen to your skin's signals and adjust your routine according to its needs. With conscious care, your skin can stay lush, soft and healthy all season long

It's important not to stick to rigid, pre-set routines: what worked in summer may not work in autumn. Listen to your skin and let the changing weather and your personal needs shape your product use.

It's also worth paying attention to nutrition and hydration, as skin health also needs support from the inside. Balanced hydration, a diet rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and regular skincare can all work together to keep your skin glowing and healthy during the autumn months.
